Workshop objective

This interdisciplinary workshop aims to structure and energise the community of the Montpellier University Innovation Cluster working on bioresource valorisation and the bioeconomy, by bringing together researchers from both formal and natural sciences, as well as social sciences and humanities.

Through oral presentations, flash talks, and dynamic poster sessions, our ambition is to provide a representative overview of the work carried out in the Montpellier area in relation to bioresource valorisation and the bioeconomy, in particulary :

  • Agronomy, resource availability, and characterisation of bioresource
  • Transformation of bioresources through physical, chemical, and biological processes
  • Applications in plant-based chemistry, bioenergy, and bio-based materials
  • Circular economy approaches integrating transitions, sufficiency, governance, stakeholders, uses, and consumers.

This workshop aims to create spaces for discussion, strengthen interactions between teams and institutes, and foster new synergies around the sustainable valorisation of bioresources, within a framework of sobriety, circularity, and innovation.

Call for abstracts

The call for abstracts is open to the entire scientific community of the Montpellier site, including more distant locations such as Narbonne, Alès, Marcoule, and others.

We encourage submissions from PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career researchers in order to highlight emerging research and enhance their visibility within the Montpellier scientific community, as well as contributions from researchers presenting cross-cutting projects or initiatives related to these themes.

When submitting, please indicate your preferred presentation format (oral presentation, flash talk, or poster). As the number of available slots is limited, the scientific committee will get back to you in early April with a proposed format in order to ensure balanced representation and reflect the diversity of research conducted across the Montpellier site within all sessions.

Submissions are accepted in French or English.
